Cherie Lunghi
Cherie Lunghi is one of the best known and successful actresses on British television. She got her first big break at the age of thirteen playing Alice for a BBC radio version of Alice in Wonderland. She has been working on stage and screen ever since, from Cordelia for the RSC to Kenco’s coffee commercials. Most recently she appeared in the sixth series of Strictly Come Dancing surviving seven weeks of gruelling performances.

Sarah Smart
Sarah Smart began her acting career at the age of fourteen in the children’s series Woof! about a boy who sporadically turned into a dog. Nine years later she earned fame as Virginia in the popular At Home With The Braithwaites. In 2008 she worked alongside Kenneth Branagh in Wallander where she played Swedish police woman Anne-Brit Hogglund.

Sydney Holland
Steadfastly committed to the London and its ideology, Viscount Sydney Holland is not afraid of a fight for what is right and fair. Imaginatively battling the police, parliament, his own staff and the ever looming debts of the hospital, the Chairman commands great respect from all.

Nicholas Farrell has been playing Chairman Sydney Holland since Casualty 1906. A stalwart of stage and screen he spent years in the RSC and is a contemporary of Kenneth Branagh. His television work includes Waking The Dead, Criminal Justice and the recent BBC adaptation of The Diary of Anne Frank.

Dr. Millais Culpin
Having spent five years in the Australian bush, Millais Culpin came to London to take a position at the hospital. As well as being a brilliant and serious doctor, Millais Culpin has a maverick side to him too. With this combination his actions can verge on heroism as he tries to protect those around him. He cares deeply for Nurse Ethel Bennett but their love is condemned by the strict rules of the hospital.
William Houston
As a Shakespearean actor William Houston has received rave reviews, including an Evening Standard Theatre Award Nomination for best actor as Prince Hal and Henry V in the RSC's history play cycle. In film he appeared alongside Michael Gambon in The Gambler and Cate Blanchett in Elizabeth the Golden Age. Recently he made use of the fifteen years he lived in Northern Ireland for the film Fifty Dead Men Walking.

Nurse Ethel Bennett
Ethel went from being a Probationer to Nurse in 1907, intelligent and secret, she has become a very able nurse with aspirations to one day qualify as a doctor. Though no one questions her skills some may question whether she enjoys the challenge of her role more than the desire to care for her patients. A forbidden bond develops between Ethel and Dr. Millais Culpin, which must be kept from Matron Luckes.
Charity Wakefield
Charity Wakefield studied at the Oxford School of Drama and earned her first television appearance in State of Play in 2003. She has since appeared in Jane Eyre and an adaptation of Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility, where she played Marianne Dashwood.

Anton Lesser
At the age of 25 Anton Lesser joined RADA and earned himself the Bancroft Gold Medal for the most promising actor of his year. He has played a huge number of Shakespearean roles including Richard III, Romeo and Hamlet. He recently played Mr Merdle in Little Dorrit and frequently records audio books of Dicken’s classics for which he won a Talkie Award.
